Indigenous women and girls have a far higher rate of murder and missing status than women of any other ethnic group in the United States. According to a report by the Urban Indian Health Institute, native women and girls are ten times more likely to be victims of murder than any other ethnicity in the United States and murder is the third highest cause of death for native women and 56% of native women experience sexual violence in their lifetimes.
