Barbara Roche, SL Library

The mission of the Barbara Roche, SL Library at Nerinx Hall is to provide the resources Loretto women need to know themselves and their world, to be enriched by diversity, and to answer the call to Christian action.

CONNECTed Partnership Between Nerinx Hall and St. Louis County Library

In an effort to increase student access to St. Louis County Library's (SLCL) online resources, SLCL has created virtual library cards in its system for all Nerinx Hall students, faculty, and staff  so that they may seamlessly log in from school, home or from any computer or device. The virtual library card will:

  • Give each student seamless access. Students will be able to use the array of databases and downloadable materials without needing a physical card.
  • Not accrue fines or fees. Since students will only be able to access electronic materials it won’t be necessary for students to track due dates.

Students already holding traditional SLCL library cards will continue to be able to use such cards to checkout materials from the public library and use in‐library computers. This new arrangement between Nerinx Hall and SLCL will supplement the traditional library card and improve each student’s ability to access SLCL online research tools as part of their school work.   Please note that not all the SLCL collections are available due to different vendor permissions.  Nerinx Students can access eMedia (https://www.slcl.org/emedia) resources as well as a selection of the library databases (https://www.slcl.org/research-learn/resources-a-to-z).
